Week1:
Share personal burnout experience
Talking about burnout, I'm not quite sure how many times I have experienced it, but the one remember it is during high school, I guess around senior 3? During the UEC final exam preparation, I was going crazy at that time, I lost a lot of confidence and was so terrified when preparing. I burnt out whenever I have too much homework to do until midnight, PLUS I don't even know how to solve the questions makes me even more stressed (especially at midnight, as midnight makes people emotional). When I felt hopeless and helpless, probably it's the time when I started to burn out and felt stressed. Of course, after graduated, I still face these kinds of issues when I'm in Uni or even workspace, but I think it's quite normal to feel that way, as long as I recovered in time, it's just a part of the journey, it's just a process of something what we are doing, so I think it really not a big deal for me.
Research:
Ideation:
We have a meeting to discuss the details of how each line in the scenes will look, then we distribute the lines to work on the storyboard sketch and animatics.
Progressions:

Character design by Pei Yun
fig: character design AI
Pei Yun did the AI version of the character design and assets for us to use in the animatics, to ensure everyone's character looks the same, unlike how we had the issue in the storyboard sketch.

Animations:
fig: matching the voiceovers
Before starting to animate, I match the scenes with the voiceover first, so I know the duration for each scene, and how many motions I can apply for it.
fig: rotating while positioning
After adding keyframes for the position, then press Alt + left click the stopwatch of the rotation, and parent it with the positions. It should rotate while positioning. The screenshot above is trying expressions I found online but it doesn't really work well.
fig: position
fig: angle
Animating the main character rolling up and down hills by using a pen tool to adjust the angle.
fig: animate following the path
fig: paste the path
Use the pen tool to draw the path out and copy the path and paste it into the object's position.
fig: parenting
Using parenting to let the liquid follows the flask rotate.
fig: wave (water filling effect)
First, create a matte for the object to which I want to apply "water" on it. Then create a rectangle and apply wave warp. Add Position keyframes for the "wave" from the bottom to the top. After the animations for the "water", move the layer under the matte and choose track matte on that matte layer.
fig: loop
Add expressions to create a loop for the winking eyes of the main character, and the doodle also.
Final outcome:
S6_Depression
S7_Purposelessness

REFLECTION
I kinda enjoy working with my groupmates, we shared ideas, and opinions, and give specific feedback. Originally we have 7 members but due to some reason, we only left 6, but things still go well too. Although the time given is really short, we still manage to catch up. I do enjoy the animating process, and although the outcome is not the smoothest, I already did my best after searching a lot of methods, solutions, and tutorials online. Really appreciate having my other 5 members, I get to learn a lot from them. I learned a lot about After Effects through this project. Sometimes I did feel stuck, but I still move on after doing other stuff and come back again...
